Blog 1: Who Am I?

Dear students, welcome to this blog. Let me tell you a little bit about myself.

My name is Javiera, a 29-year-old English teacher that lives at the outskirts of Santiago. A millennial that chooses sometimes to be vegan because it’s cheaper, an introvert person that likes eating salty things and listening to music while talking to her friends about problems. I would say that my main interests in this moment are reading books, meeting new people, try to be as much healthy as possible and trying to fix my psychological issues before I leave the country.

Nice to meet you 😊

I used to live in Santiago Centro, but due to economic and health issues, this year I decided to go back to my mother’s place.  She lives far from the capital, in a town called Peñaflor (not Peñalolén, but Peñaflor), with my younger and elder brothers. My father lives in the north of the country, so we see him sometimes.

Nowadays, my relationship with my siblings is amazing, I love my mom and, fortunately, it’s mutual; unfortunately, I am having some problems with my father and his perceptions of the world but, I hope, we can reach an agreement soon.

Anyways, here are some pictures from my family.

These two are my brothers; as you can see, the elder is the funniest one, while the youger is the coolest hehe.

These two are my parents. Sometimes I wonde how my mother paid attention to my father, but oh well, that's love for you.

Have you heard the term "chosen family"? It's a term used a lot in the LGTBQ+ community that refers to those people who are as important as family. In my case, my girlfriend is someone I want to spend the rest of my life together with ; in the other picture, it's a friend who I love as much as a sister.

See you next time, dear students :)

    1. Right now, I am reading a book regarding the term "vagabonding". Before that, I have read books from Japanese authors and they deal with themes such as murder and suspense and, in other book, it was about death and loss and moving on.

    1. I think that when you choose your people, it means that you are capable of loving others regardless of their status, religion, sexual or political orientation, etc. And that's beautiful.
