Blog 5 - A Meaningful Picture

Imagen
Good afternoon, dear students. Hoping you are enjoying this weekend, in today’s blog I will talk about one meaningful picture for me. I consider myself a very sentimental person, and photographs are short extracts of significant instances of our lives, whether these can be representations of relevant periods of our lives or simply instants of our daily lives. These are forever printed memories. In this picture, though, I will describe a part of my heart that is faraway gone.  Her name was Cucky, although in my mind was always Cucky Ramos Valencia. She was a mixed breed and part of my life for 17 years. Besides my human family, she was the only living being that watched me grow since childhood until adulthood. My companion, my pet, my Cucky <3.   This last picture is the relevant one, because the previous one was only the formal presentation to you all hehe. In this picture, we can see a very old and grumpy Cucky, who is taking her last bath in her life. I wa...

Blog 4 - Free Topic

Imagen
Hello, dear students. Hoping you are having a great weekend, today’s blog is free topic, so I will write about the novels that I have read this year so far. Kitchen , by Banana Yoshimoto, the stories of 2 different characters dealing with the death of a loved one are depicted in such a way that it actually makes you believe that you are seeing what’s going on. There aren’t any sudden plot twists nor villains but rather a gentle portrayal of what it feels like when only memories prevail through time   and yet, you must move on in life.   If you are looking for a somehow similar version of Wuthering Heights (one of the most successful novels from Emily Brönte), Fifty Words for Rain: A Novel will not let you down. Kyoto, 1948: Traditional customs, hierarchy, violence, family ties, exceptional moments for tenderness and love that will be a very short respite for the reader, deception and loyalty are clashed in this amazing novel by Asha Lemmie. In Confessions , Kana...

Blog 3 - Favorite Technological Device

Imagen
Hello dear students, I hope you are doing well. In today’s blog, I will describe my favorite technological device. If we look up at the definition, technology refers to processes and elements that help to solve a problem or that has a purpose or end for it.    Keep that in mind, I am going to talk about a technological devicesthat has helped me throughout the years.   🌟 Whiteboard Marker 🌟   As a teacher, I have to say that using whiteboard markers throughout the day is a daily must. I wouldn’t say this is my favorite technological device because it’s oh-wow-amazing-incredible-fantastic-etc. and it has multiple functions, but rather, it has helped me a lot throughout the working hours to make my teaching easier. Despite this, I do have a favorite brand of whiteboard markers:   These are the best: they are thick, they have different colours (besides these, I have found pink, yellow, orange and purple), and you can buy the ink instead the full...

Blog 2 : Why did I choose my major?

Hello, dear students. I hope you are having a good day. In today's second blog, I will talk about why I decided to study my major: a bachelor’s degree in English Language and Literature.     When I was a child, I was truly scared of going to University: it seemed like an impossible dream to pursue since everyone talked so solemnly about it. My first impulse was to become a baker; it seemed easy at first, but I discovered that it is such a strenuous job, so I quitted that idea immediately. As a high schooler, I wanted to study psychology after I graduated from school, but I declined after my mother talked me out of it: She noticed that I was going to enter a major for the wrong reasons. As I was approaching my school graduation, I decided to pursue this major since English was one of my best subjects at school and, unfortunately, I didn’t have the guts to pursue one of my true passions: plastic arts. Looking in retrospective, and considering all its ups and do...
